This is actually the second building to serve as the Fog Signal Building for Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. The original had been built too close to the house, and was moved back on the grounds and served as a warehouse (today the reconstructed Warehouse hosting the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Museum). This building, completed in 1907, had three rooms and used the boilers, engines, and steam whistles from the old building and a new duplex steam pump.

Today, the building is home to admissions for Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and the Museum Store. In addition, Tower Tour tickets can be obtained here, if available.

Just outside the building, Fog Signal Whistle Demonstrations take place throughout the day.
