An original structure at Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, the Barn served many purposes during its active life, including as a garage starting in the 1940s. The Barn was moved back to its original location in 2004.

The Barn, built to standard lighthouse plans, is a 16x24 foot, gable-roofed structure clad in board and batten and shingle siding. Similar barns can be found at Tawas Point and Fort Mile Point on Lake Huron and Split Rock on Lake Superior, among others.

Today the Barn is home to two movie presentations: Shipwrecks of the Straits and The Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse Tower Tour. Each movie is 15 minutes long, and play throughout the day.
